The 250 Most Valuable Records Of Our Time
The December 2006 issue of RECORD COLLECTOR magazine (issue 330) has a cover feature listing the 250 most valuable records of our time.  Members of THE KING EARL BOOGIE BAND get a mention !
STATUS QUO - with their famous drummer, our own JOHN COGHLAN, are listed twice.  Their withdrawn single Technicolour Dreams (1968) is 76 on the list and stock copies sell for £1000.  Fascinatingly, there are more demo copies than real stock copies available - a demo copy only raises £300.
LEVEE CAMP MOAN - featuring IAN CAMPBELL are 212 in the list with copies of their Live At Peacock Farm LP going for £600.

blues in britain -  November 2006 edition

This august and respected blues magazine includes a major feature interview with COLIN EARL in its November 2006 edition.  The interview is reproduced more or less verbatim and Colin revealed lots about his career development, his personal influences, his aspirations for the King Earl Boogie Band and at long last - after thirty four years of silence - his version of why Mungo Jerry broke up.

The interview, by Fran Leslie,  editor of Blues in britain,  is the cover feature and is accompanied by some excellent photographs by Richard Brayshaw - including two full page portraits as well as the front cover portrait.

NEW CD -  August 2006 - At last the new CD is released.  Entitled LOADED & LIVE it boasts thirteen tracks recorded live during performances at Sterts Open Air Theatre and at Carnglaze Cavern - both in Cornwall - during 2005.  As well as some old favourites like Jelly Roll Baker and Slow Down (with Les on vocals), it has some new songs by Dave Peabody.  The disc opens with the bands current favourite,  Money To Burn (one of Dave's own songs),  and closes with another favourite, Marie Marie.
The recording captures the essence of "live" music - it's been well worth waiting for.

MUNGO JERRY FILMED FOR DUTCH T.V.

One day Liz Earl - the power behind the throne - got home from work to be met at the door by a burly sound engineer with a woolly microphone on a boom who didn't speak any English !     Liz has been around Colin long enough not to panic and call the police - instead she ventured into her living room to find the place full of lights and a camera team from Dutch Television.  They were making a documentary celebrating iconic songs about the Summer and - of course -  "In The Summertime" is one of the best selling ever of such songs.  What better place to film an interview with Colin than in his own home.  The interview was shown on Dutch TV early in December 2003 as part of the documentary SINGLE LUCK see http://babyjump.topcities.com for more details.
